I don't want to present myself as some sort of singular figure. I think part of what's different are the times...I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not. He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it.
I'm taking a second and third look at Obama. Does Obama remember what Ronald Reagan did to black America? Candidly, I'm feeling anyone who will kiss up to Republicans and use the name of Ronald Reagan, may not be the change agent America needs.
What did you think about Obama saying "Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not." Maybe Barack Obama should have read the late Steve Gillard's post on Ronald Reagan, when he wrote, "Reagan depicted blacks as "welfare queens" leeching off the society, when in reality, white women are the largest recipients of AFDC. Reagan used race like a club to hammer minorities and pander to the racist right."
Steve Gillard also noted, "We need to ask what hath Reagan wrought. His economic policies crippled this country, preventing the kind of long term structural changes which are still needed. How long will American businesses have to foot the bill for health insurance? How long will unequal funding for schools exist? How long will the right of women to control their bodies be subject to restrictions? This is the real, domestic legacy of Ronald Reagan. His breaking of the PATCO strike began the road to anti-Union policies across business. Once, businesses wanted labor peace, after Reagan, strike breaking was permitted, hell encouraged.
Reagan began the road of crippling America's ability to care for Americans. Now we have this failed trickle down economic policy pushed by yet another President. One that leaves Americans in record debt and record bankruptcies. Instead of tax rates which fairly distribute the burden of funding America, the rich have been encouraged to avoid their fair share. Ronald Reagan began the bankrupting of America and the creation of a super wealthy CEO class, one where their great grandchildren will never have to work, an aristocracy of trustifarians. Under Reagan hypocracy and selfishness became the rule of the road. Not just in public life, where his staff routinely lied, eventually leading to Iran-Contra.
But if Reagan started to ruin America, his foreign policy left the dead around like fallen leaves. His foreign policy was a disater by any standard. Dead nuns in El Salvador, murdered school teachers in Nicaragua, the tortured in Argentina, the seizure of Grenade, the failed intervention in Lebanon, the aerial assasination attempt on Khaddafi, which led to the bombing of Pam Am flight 103. Reagan's policies left a trail of failure and disaster at every turn.
How to explain funding the deeply corrupt Contras? Former Somocista generals who funded their war by the drug trade? Who murdered the innoncent. Or the war in Guatemala and the genocide of the indian population. Or the war in El Salvador, where American nuns, among many others, were raped and murdered. A government so callous that it murdered an archbishop in his church. Reagan's foreign policy left a trail of death and fear wherever it touched." More HERE
Maybe Barack Obama should read more about Ronald Reagan, and stop kissing up to Ronald Reagan supporters. They probably won't be voting for Obama anyway. But that is just my opinion, what's yours?

Rudy G is the winner..Why else would he skip all the early voters and focus on Florida? Think that he knows something we do not. They are using faulty paper-less voting machines everywhere, so how will we really know, with no paper trail. This was planned out a long time ago, he already is comfortable with the folks in Saudi Arabi just like Bush.
Hillary has been around the block, this is true, but somehow with her behavior lately she reminds me of Barbara Bush and the comments she made in regards to the Victims of Katrina being better off, (after losing everything to the flooding by the levee, not the hurricane), staying in the convention center.
Yes, her husband cheated and lied on her in front of America, the thing about the men in my family is at least when confronted they will tell the truth, and not allow the women in their lives to continue with the agony until undisputable evidence appears. The tactics that they are using to distort the truth is amazing, but yet they are the winners, they are who you want to represent you around the world. Same old dirty as usual.
America needs someone who will not continue the paths that have been set up by this President and his Administration, there is so much that needs to be resend, rejected and rolled back, it seems to me a person that has confront ethics within Congress and co-authored a bill to make them practice some truth in politics would be a better selection when thinking about change THAN someone who is following the same old dirty tricks as usual politics.
Yes, in her 35 yrs the Federal THREE STRIKES LAW was enacted, thus supplying much profit/bodies for the prison/industrial complex. The Reagan years brought us the drugs in black communities and the Clinton years put the drug dealers in the black communities away for years to life. In today’s America, drug laws have become the new Jim Crow laws, the prison/industrial complex has become the new plantation, and the warden has become the new overseer. America’s newest slaves aren’t picking cotton.

We also can thank the Clintons for the China Trade Agreement and all the poison products we receive on a daily basis: The administration approached this on two tracks essentially, looking at the impact on the world stage in terms of the president's prestige, U.S. trade and U.S. national security interests, the second track being domestic politics here at home. Certainly, this is a victory for the president on a very controversial issue. On the key issue of U.S. relations with China, the president said it himself. It is his view now -- and this is a different view than he had when he first ran for presidency, but it is his view now in his final, in his eighth year in office, that the best way to deal with China, despite the differences, is, in his words, "with an outstretched hand, not a clenched fists." This a victory for president's policy of engagement. He also cast this as a victory for the U.S. economy. The test of course in the weeks ahead. This still must go through the United States Senate. The White House government wary now, watching to see how the Chinese government will react, hoping it doesn't do anything to change the support this legislation has right now in the U.S. Senate.

Senator Hillary Clinton has her husband to push her/his ideas, out there with all the free press, but remember all those scandals, all the questionable folks that were pardoned, and while she brings up the slum landlord, she quietly returns $850,000.000 to the Chinese jailbird. What about how they trashed the White House when they left office, but again, that is okay because they are the Clintons.
